Annual Lecture: Joe Cornish, ‘Any Given Day: a landscape photographer’s story’

Note that this is on a Thursday, not Tuesday, and is in a different venue, the Bishopthorpe Sports & Social Club.

 Joe will be able to introduce us to his newly published book, reflecting on a photography career started in 1980.  He will also be responding to a request to explain, with examples, his processes that contributed to some of his favourite landscape images.  Not to be missed!

Joe Cornish is based in North Yorkshire and has devoted more than thirty years to landscape photography, especially in the north of England and Scotland. 

His work includes large scale commissions and publishing projects. He has led countless workshops, tours, seminars and one-to-ones, as well as giving talks and writing.

Joe is an avid thinker on the role of photography with a strong interest in the global environment, and he has written countless articles, many appearing in: https://www.onlandscape.co.uk/, which he helped co-found.

An honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, he was first Chair of the Landscape Distinctions panel. 

His recent books include: Scotland’s Mountains; Scotland’s Coast; The Northumberland Coast; This Land; Capability Brown; Humphry Repton; Woodland Sanctuary (with Simon Baxter); Still Time to Wonder (on Fountains Abbey); All the Wood’s a Stage (with Simon Baxter). 

His latest book, a retrospective, is Any Given Day.
