Flowers Cuppa & Capture, 12 June 2023
I think that everyone will enjoy the bumper crop of images in the ‘Flowers Gallery’! It just pipped ‘Columns’ for the number of submissions, congratulations everyone. Not least for venturing out in the heat, it was enough to cause at least one flower to wilt.
There is a wonderful and varied array of interpretations across most of the colour spectrum. It’s not all polychromatic, there is a monochrome or two for good measure. There are documentary, dreamy, abstract, painted, printed, fabric, bottled and glass flowers on display. Poppies were popular and a couple of poppy fields feature with different architectural backdrops including Northumberland and a more industrial power station (presumably Drax as all of the others have gone).
Cuppa and capture continues through the summer and the listings are on our WhatsOn page. Don’t forget the social side of Cuppa & Capture too, it’s a great opportunity to meet up and catch up during the close season. If you can, do come along and have a cuppa and a chat with fellow members, meeting at 12 noon on the first floor at York Theatre Royal.
