Annual Digital Image Showcase ‘Competition’ Part II
This year we are continuing with a similar format to recent years, a celebration of the wide range of subjects and styles of members’ photography.
Our members continue to take fantastic photographs and to embrace new opportunities, many trying their hand at different genres or experimenting with a variety of creative techniques. Our galleries show images encompassing a wide range of subjects and styles and are increasingly full of images taken and edited on phones. Grouping images into a series of categories better reflects this diversity and makes the unenviable job of choosing favourite images a little less challenging.
The six categories are as follows: Landscape; The Living World; Architecture and Objects; Portraiture; Street; Abstract and Creative.
The review of all of the images will take place over two sessions. This second session will include images from the final three categories: Portraiture; Street; Abstract and Creative.
All submitted images will be shown in an AV. Following this, our guest ‘judge’ will be asked to select and discuss a few of their favourite images in each category. Reflecting the ethos of Bishopthorpe Camera Club and also the subjective nature of photography, scores will not be awarded. The number of images mean that time constraints will not allow a commentary on every image.
Members are encouraged to bring their images to a critique session if they would like feedback.
