Several of our recent speakers had spoken enthusiastically about creating series of related images in composite creations so that the whole is greater than the parts, so this Challenge was an opportunity for our members to have a go! To keep things simple, the Challenge focused on creating triptychs, panels of three related images that are related in some way.
There was an enthusiastic response with a good number of delightfully diverse triptychs submitted. Not surprisingly, the natural world is well represented, with colourful triptychs featuring a wide range of flowers, trees, birds and beetles. Buildings, including of course the Minster, and bits of buildings, notably windows, are also represented, and transport, from cars and taxis to trains also figure. As would be expected, there is evidence of out members’ exotic travels, as well as some wonderfully creative triptychs, and a striking ‘Tribute to Bob’. And who can ignore the ‘Moustache’ triptych, which is bound to raise a smile!
