Julian Kingma: Instinct

Award-winning Australian photographer Julian Kingma is forgoing a summer morning on his surf board  ‘Down Under’ to share stories and images with us. Jules is quite a character and this promises to be a fun and memorable evening!

Jules started out as a cadet press photographer in Melbourne. He worked his way up to ‘head of features’ before going freelance for national and international publications. Jules has images in Australia’s National Portrait Gallery and has won awards for his portraiture, food photography and story telling. He has had long term collaborations with the Australian National Ballet and also Aaron Turner, chef and owner of Igni restaurant. The latter has resulted in the book ‘Igni – A Restaurant’s First Year‘.

Jules is also a fantastic travel and documentary photographer and his colourful images are quite a contrast from his predominantly monochrome portraiture.

You can check out more of Jules’ images on his website and instagram.

Visitors and members of other clubs are welcome to attend (£5). There are advantageous rates for individuals joining for the whole Spring season and also for Clubs wishing to sign up 5 or more attendees. Please check out our various subscriptions here.
