In January 2021, the Club held its first Annual Photographic Exhibition of members’ work at the York Theatre Royal, including prints and digital images.
Following on from the success of that exhibition, we were delighted to be invited by the Theatre to mount an exhibition to accompany their community production of ‘The Coppergate Woman’ in 2022. The play weaves Viking legends with stories of modern-day people. In the words of Maureen Lennon: “It’s a story about hope, heartache and loss, and starting again”. Relating to this, the images in this exhibition fall within four themes: Destruction; Renewal and Hope; Old and New; York’s Viking Heritage.
The Club again held exhibitions of members’ work in January 2023, 2024 and 2025. We are currently busy planning for the next exhibition in January 2026.
