Cuppa & Capture (C&C) takes place on alternate Mondays. The group meets up at 12 noon for a brew and a natter before heading off to take pictures around York. With a new theme each time, C&C encourages a fresh look at our beautiful city.
The Club now attracts members from a wide geographical area as well as younger members who work and cannot necessarily meet up in York or on a Monday. Those members and anyone not comfortable coming into York are welcome to take part in the ‘Capture’ element, submitting images taken in their local area on the day or, if that’s not possible, at another convenient time during the week of the outing.
That said, we would still want to encourage you to join the group in York whenever possible so that you get to know other members and share your photography with them.
All Club members will receive an email from our C&C organiser, Bryan Stanton, via the Secretary in advance of the sessions, with information about the date and topic. There is no additional charge for this activity; it is included as part of your membership.
Non-members are welcome to a free ‘come and try it’ session to see whether they would like to take part more regularly. If so, we’d encourage you to join the Club or alternatively you can pay £3 per session via the event listing on the website.
After the session, you are invited to submit a maximum of five images for inclusion in a C&C gallery on the website. The deadline for submission is midnight on Monday a week after the outing, which means that you have a full week to submit your images. Please follow the ‘Submitting Images’ guidance for C&C on the website and feel free to ask the web team for advice if you’re unsure how to go about this.
For future C&C themes, please check out What’s On and see also the galleries from past outings.
If you’d like to find out more about C&C, or have any questions, please email Bryan at candc@bishopthorpecc.co.uk.
Images shown below are just a small selection taken during previous Cuppa & Capture outings. All the images, together with a short report on each outing, are posted in the Cuppa & Capture Galleries.
