This was the final C&C outing before having a short break during August, and the theme was ‘Summertime!’. Come rain or shine, we knew that we were likely to see some interesting images and interpretations, although as it turned out, the weather was kind and there were plenty of takers again for the ‘cuppa’ beforehand at York Theatre Royal, which was great to see.
As usual, there’s plenty of variety amongst the images, although one subject stood out – delicious ice cream , something that everyone enjoys in summer, whatever their age, and clearly that day was no exception.
Whilst most of the images are colourful, reflecting the joy of summer, there are also some great monochrome images, including ‘Taking the rays’, which exudes its own feeling of warmth. Not surprisingly, there are quite a few flowers, including one that epitomises summer, the sunflower. One super triptych was produced (which is worthy of being added belatedly to the recent Challenge gallery… and as a Simon and Garfunkel fan, I had to smile at the title ‘Oh Phacelia… ‘.
Well done to all who took part – it was lovely to see everyone enjoying meeting up and taking photos. Do carry on meeting during August if you’d like to, and you’re welcome to hang on to your images if you’d like us to make a gallery (or two) in September.
