The Club runs regular Photo Visits (previously named Photo Walks), which take place in both rural and urban locations, mostly around Yorkshire, but sometimes a little further afield. For example, we have enjoyed visits to Saltaire, various locations in the Yorkshire Wolds, the North York Moors Railway, Leeds, Hull and the Humber Bridge.
The visits are a great opportunity to stretch your legs and unleash your creativity. They are very sociable, and you’ll be in the company of like-minded people who are also keen to take photographs. There is always someone on hand to give you a tip or help you out.
Before each Photo Visit, the organisers provide information and a map of the area. We often meet up in a café for a chat before heading off on the walk. You are free to go at your own pace and we usually reconvene at the end of the walk for a cup of tea. Partners are welcome to come along for a nice day out.
There is no additional charge for this activity; it is included as part of your Club membership. Non-members are welcome to a free ‘come and try it’ Photo Visit to see whether they would like to take part more regularly. We ask for £3 per walk, but encourage visitors to consider joining the Club as there are plenty of other activities to get involved with too.

We keep in touch through a WhatsApp group, and this is particularly helpful in case of last-minute changes. We also post details on our Bishopthorpe Camera Club Photo Walks Facebook page so please sign up to both the WhatsApp and Facebook groups.
