A favourite project in monochrome  Monochrome Interest Group, 4 March 2025

The evening started with a short talk from David Ireland (one of our members) about Sebastião Salgado, one of the world’s most renowned photographers who has, since this evening, sadly died. Salgado worked on long term, self-assigned projects, many of which have been published as books, and his favourite work medium was Black & White, mainly taken with Analogue Film cameras and Kodak Tmax Film.

Relating to Salgado’s enthusiasm for projects, the theme for members this evening was monochrome images from our own favourite projects. Members submitted up to 5 images capturing ‘A favourite project in monochrome’, which were presented as an audio-visual presentation during the evening and are also presented below.
