Where walls meet  Cuppa & Capture, 25 November 2024

What a lot of interesting and varied images for this week’s C&C outing on the subject of ‘Where walls meet’ – so many different interpretations of walls meeting!

There were plenty of examples of walls meeting at street corners, some with contrasting brickwork and others with people in the foreground, whether entertaining the Christmas shoppers or doing their best to knock them over. There were armed police, perhaps patrolling the streets on the look-out for some ‘corner capers’, although the need for them to clamp down on the high jinks pictured in one of the images seems a little over the top! And, of course, there’s always someone leaning on a wall having a surreptitious smoke.

There are some great architectural images, too, not only with walls meeting one another, but also walls meeting the sky, or in flooded York, meeting the river! And nature found a place too where walls meet, not forgetting the familiar little statue perching up high where walls meet at the junction of High Petergate and Minster Gates.

And last but not least, the usual flair is on display, with some great abstract and striking creative images submitted.

Well done and thanks to everyone who submitted images, and it was good to see so many of you at YTR beforehand.
