In York we’re surrounded by the past, but we live in the 21st century and there’s no shortage, wherever you look, of evidence of modern or contemporary influences, most obviously in architecture and clothing. Ancient and modern are intimately intertwined, of course, so images of accidental or intentional juxtapositions were welcome, as well as anything unusual or quirky.
Many thanks to those who contributed. Although rather few members embraced this topic, those that did came up with a good range of subject matter, from houses to hives, stations to statues, pump houses to portcullises and much more… Why not take a look?
