The Colours of Autumn

With luck, trees will be turning or shedding leaves for us to capture some intense Autumn colours. No doubt everyone will head towards Museum Gardens but look for other locations too.

You might want to try to isolate a subject against a blurred background of autumn colour or photograph some leaves against a negative space. Early evening light may help boost the saturation and accentuate the yellows and golds. If you have a polarising filter it can also help increase the vibrancy of a shot, don’t worry if you don’t own one a quick play with the saturation slider will normally have the same effect.

Experiment and try something abstract, intentional camera (or even photographer) movement may help with this or perhaps just a detail of a leaf. You might even choose to surprise us with monochrome!
