Goole – Photo Walk

This walk, distance approx 2.6m provides a fascinating tour of Goole old town and Docklands. In the early 1800’s Goole town as we know it was created to provide coal exporting facilities from the West Riding of Yorkshire via inland waterways then onwards by sea to the Continent. The old Pepper Pot was built around this period to provide water hydraulics for operating the sea and other locks.

Goole is still an active sea going port. The old town and many buildings have fallen into disrepair over the years leaving behind a feeling of dilapidation and sadness for what was once a bustling port competing with the likes of Hull.

The juxtaposition of old and more recent structures in often sharp contrast provide lots of photographic opportunities for the creative mind. Not withstanding the initial image capture, creative editing can add enormously to your image production.
