Deck the halls! @ noon
This year, as we approach Christmas, we have planned a day of festive photography with not one but two social get-togethers.
We hope that you will join us for this special Christmas Cuppa & Capture on Monday 11 December. It is a great opportunity for socialising, so do come and enjoy the company of fellow members, either for lunch and a chat at York Theatre Royal from noon as usual for a Cuppa & Capture outing, or if you’re busy during the day, from 5 pm for a warming glass of mulled wine or a mug of hot chocolate and perhaps a bite to eat under cover in the warmth and festive atmosphere of the Thor’s Tipi in the Museum Gardens. Partners are more than welcome to come along too, of course.
For the festive lunchtime Cuppa & Capture get-together, please meet as usual at 12 noon upstairs at York Theatre Royal. There won’t be a set lunch, but you can choose from what’s on offer at the café.
After lunch, there’ll be plenty of time to get out and about in York to take photos on the theme of ‘Deck the halls!’ – loads of scope for a varied gallery of images given the vast arrays of brightly festive decorations that will, as always, adorn shops, houses and streets across York in the run-up to Christmas. Then, why not go and warm up afterwards at our second get-together of the day….?
Our second get-together of the day will be under cover in the warmth of Thor’s Tipi in the Museum Gardens, so if you are not able to meet at lunchtime, or would like to do both, then please come along from 5 pm onwards for mulled wine or hot chocolate, and perhaps also a bite to eat from the delicious sounding and varied hot dog menu. No need for us to book, we can just turn up. A great opportunity for some socialising! As mentioned earlier, this year’s festive theme is ‘Deck the halls’, and you can take photos either before or after meeting up for a drink and a chat.
Some members may prefer to meet at lunchtime, especially if they’d like to get home before it gets too late. However, having a second meeting in the late afternoon/early evening should mean that more of our members will be able to attend, especially if they work.
Of course, you are more than welcome to come to both social get-togethers!
If you can’t make it at all that day, then do send in any images that you take on the festive theme at any time or in any place during that week.

Submitting images
After the event, please submit up to five of your images from this festive C&C/Outing by WeTransfer to web@bishopthorpecc.co.uk by midnight on Friday 29 December to give us chance to publish the gallery while it’s still the holiday season. The format is exactly the same as for C&C (Submitting images).

We are hoping that many of you (and partners) will be able to join us for one or both of these special festive gatherings. It would be wonderful to catch up with everyone and to meet some of our newer members face-to-face.
